DMX Arrested At A Phoenix Mall

DMX has been arrested and slapped with a felony charge of taking the identity of another at a Phoenix mall.

Details were not readily available at press time.
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was booked at the Maricopa County jail.

Phoenix police Sgt. Andy Hill did not offer additional information, but did state that the arrest originated from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office case, the Associated Press reports.

The Maricopa County Sheriff did not return request for comment.

DMX has been arrested multiple times recently with charges that range from alleged illicit drug use to warrants for not appearing in court.

Police arrested the rapper earlier this month at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Prior to that, he was arrested in Miami for allegedly attempting to purchase cocaine and marijuana.

DMX Arrested Again in Arizona

Rapper DMX was arrested yesterday (July 2) as he exited an airplane in Arizona, as he was returning home from a trip from Miami, Florida, where he was also arrested - twice.

According to TMZ.com, the rapper was arrested over two outstanding warrants in Phoenix, Arizona.

Reports suggested that the rapper violated the terms of his bond, which was one of the reasons for the arrest.

Just last week on June 27, the rapper, born Earl Simmons, was arrested in Miami, after allegedly purchasing $30 dollars worth of powdered cocaine and $15 dollars worth of marijuana.

On June 23, DMX was arrested for driving in Miami with a suspended license.

And in May, the rapper was arrested for driving on an Arizona highway at speeds of over 110 MPH with a suspended license.

No further information was available about DMX's most recent arrest as of press time.

DMX Arrested On Cocaine Charges

Rapper DMX was arrested in Miami for the second time this week, after attempting to buy $45 in cocaine and marijuana from an undercover police officer on Friday (Jun 26).

He is currently in custody at the Miami-Dade County jail.

According to the police, 37-year-old DMX, born Earl Simmons, approached the officer, requesting to purchase "30 powder and 15 weed."

Upon handing cash to the officer, DMX was taken into custody. His arrest is part of an ongoing undercover sting.

DMX was also arrested on Monday (Jun 22) on a warrant for driving without a valid license, and was later released after posting a $500 bond.

The embattled rapper also has a pending trial in Arizona, where he faces drug and animal cruelty charges, following a raid of his Maricopa County home.

DMX Busted Without Valid Driver's License

Legal troubles continue to mount for rapper DMX.

The Associated Press reports the rapper (born Earl Simmons) was picked up about 1:30 p.m. Monday (June 23) by Miami Dade County Police. Authorities, who had an arrest warrant for Simmons for not having a valid driver's license, took the Yonkers, NY entertainer to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Institute.

According to a spokeswoman, Simmons remained behind bars at about 5:30 p.m. The rapper's bond was set at $500.

The arrest is but one of a string of recent encounters with the law involving Simmons.

The rapper's most recent legal episode came last month as he pleaded not guilty to felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges in Arizona. The charges stem from a raid of Simmons' Cave Creek home during an investigation of animal cruelty charges against the rapper.

In addition, Arizona police are investigating Simmons for allegedly checking into a hospital in Scottsdale under an assumed name to presumably avoid paying the hospital bill.

A message left with a New York attorney who has represented DMX was not immediately returned at the time of this story.

DMX's $1.5 Mil Award Put On Hold In "Rape" Suit Judgment

A Maryland judge has vacated a $1.5 million judgment awarded to a woman who filed a defamation suit against DMX after he alleged that she raped him.

Last week, Prince George's County Circuit Judge Thomas Smith ruled that DMX (whose real name is Earl Simmons) was not properly served with court papers in the case filed against him by Monique Wayne.

After an August 2003 encounter with Simmons, Wayne gave birth to a son by the rapper in April 2004.

During a court hearing earlier this year Wayne said she awoke to find Simmons on top of her, which led to consensual sex. She said she filed the lawsuit because "he lied to the whole world on me" about what happened. The January hearing resulted in Wayne being awarded $1.5 million after Simmons failed to appear.

Attorneys for DMX challenged that claim, saying Wayne failed to properly serve him with lawsuit papers and that the rapper was unaware of the case against him.

X's lawyer William "Hassan" Murphy III said the Yonkers MC "looks forward to proving Wayne's allegations to be wrong" if the case continues.

In related news, Simmons is also facing criminal charges in Arizona for allegedly mistreating pit bulls found at his Phoenix home and felony drug possession. He pleaded not guilty last week.
