Nelly Takes Pimp Juice To France, Sweden

Nelly and Fillmore Street Brewery continues to expand the rapper’s Pimp Juice line of energy drink throughout the world, as the brand recently launched in France and Sweden.

French Pimp Juice launched last week at the Le Bus Palladium in Paris, where select DJ’s were invited to preview the brand, as well as a talent showcase.

The brand, which is being advertised on Paris’ Generation 88.2 and NRJ, is also in talks with becoming a sponsor of numerous French basketball leagues.

Fillmore Street Brewery President William Wooten said he expected French Pimp Juice to be successful in the new territories.

“We expect much success in France due to its lively Hip-Hop scene and love of basketball," Wooten. “French Pimp Juice is currently being offered in stores and In Paris with further distribution to occur in September to coincide with Nelly’s next album release, Brass Knuckles.”

Fillmore Street Brewery also completed a licensing deal that will introduce Pimp Juice to the Scandinavian market for the first time.

Through a deal with Bling Bling AB, a multifaceted marketing company, Pimp Juice is currently being sold throughout Stockholm, with further plans to expand throughout Sweden.

In Sweden, Pimp Juice will also be the official sponsor of soft drinks at all MTV events held in the country.

Pimp Juice is sold internationally, in the United States, Africa and Europe.

Nelly’s album Brass Knuckles has been shuffled from August 19th to September 16th.

Nelly, Akon & Pharrell To Form Supergroup?

This past weekend, Nelly entertained a select few at the Red Rock Hotel's suites in Las Vegas for his listening party for the long overdue Brass Knuckles. When discussing the songs featured on the album, Akon made a special appearance along with Jermaine Dupri. As Akon was discussing his relationship with Nelly and the song he produced titled “Body On Me,” a small tidbit of information leaked out.

“Me and Nelly used to bump into each other off and on and it had nothing to do with music. We were always looking for the opportunity to work together,” Akon said. “There was a thing that Nelly was coming up with that had me, him and Pharrell possibly doing an album together. We just wanted to find something we could do together.”

The room lit up as this was the first time a collaboration of this magnitude had ever been discussed. But just how realistic is the collaboration?

“Right now it’s just a concept,” Nelly responded when questioned about the trio working together. “I just got the idea because I love groups like Bell Biv Devoe. When they got a chance to come together. When LSG (Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill) did it. Nobody has really done it on the Hip Hop level. Nobody has put egos aside and said ‘You know what? Let’s do something that would be crazy! We don’t have that (moment in time) and I feel like we’re missing that something special.”

Talks of multiple supergroups have always been swimming in the gossip pool. However, aside from The Firm or some of the R&B/Hip Hop collabs with R Kelly and Jay-Z or Bow Wow and Omarion, there hasn’t been a collaborative effort that could impact the charts like this.

“It’s just (several) different concepts that he’s throwing out and I’m entertaining,” Akon continued. “That’s how it is. You never really know when and how that magic is going to happen. I just love collaborating because it brings out the best in whoever we are collaborating with.”

Look for Brass Knuckles August 19th on Universal.
