Lil Scrappy Free on Bond After Stabbing

Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy was freed yesterday (July 20) on a $1,500 bond after being stabbed and arrested on July 18.

According to Officer Marcus Hodge and the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the stabbing resulted from a domestic dispute involving Scrappy and his sister’s boyfriend in Dekalb County.

Scrappy’s sister allegedly called her sibling to her apartment on North Hairston Road due to an intense argument with her significant other.

Upon his arrival, Scrappy was stabbed in an ensuing scuffle, but did not suffer any serious internal injuries.

Despite being assaulted, Scrappy was charged with felony use of a weapon in the commission of a crime and felony marijuana possession.

The arrest was made after a search of the rapper’s vehicle.

In addition, Scrappy must contend with one count of police battery and misdemeanor obstruction of police officers.

While his role in the altercation has not been specified by police, the sister’s boyfriend was not charged with a crime.

Lil Scrappy celebrated the independent release of Prince of the South in May 2008. His third album, Grustle, is scheduled for release on December 5.

As press time, Scrappy and his management have declined to comment on the case.
