Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Others Honor Graduating Teens

Rapper Chamillionaire appeared late last week with No More Victims, Inc. to help congratulate several Houston area teens graduating high school, despite difficult odds. Joined by other music stars of the city including Slim Thug, DJ Michael "5000" Watts and Trae, Hip Hop honored the graduates of Northeast Houston's M.B. Smiley High School, which will be closing down after this summer.

No More Victims was founded by Marilyn Gambrell, and is an advocacy program for children of incarcerated parents, ranging from infants to young adults. The program is unique to Houston, and features over 700 members. To date, only 3% of members have ever ended up incarcerated themselves, the very thing the organization is trying to prevent.

The collaboration with the Hip Hop stars was organized between Gambrell and veteran music publicist Nancy Bryon. The event was held at Pappadeaux's Restaurant, with limousine transportation donated by supporters.
